I've seen Scott Jenson's book The Simplicity Shift: Innovative Design Tactics in a Corporate World mentioned and praised before as a concise, insightful guide to managing good design practices within a business culture. I finally went looking for it today and learned that Scott has posted a pdf of the book for free on his site: Jenson.org.
The unfortunate flipside to the story is that the book is out of print (though it looks like Amazon still has copies). Thanks to Scott for keeping it available.
Scott Jenson is currently manager of mobile UI design at Google, and has a long history of accomplishments in HCI.
